Disclosed is a device for exchanging heat, especially for cooling the
combustion air of internal combustion engines in motor vehicles, which is
characterized by the fact that the flow devices (14) are accommodated in
an profiled housing (6) comprising at least two parts. The cross section
of a first housing part (6a) is essentially U-shaped, said basic shape
being closed at the open end of the first housing part (6a) by means of a
second, substantially planar housing part (6b). The inventive device is
further characterized by the fact that the housing (6) comprises at least
one inlet flange and at least one outlet flange for the second medium at
two opposite sides while the flow devices (14) are kept at a distance
from each other in at least one area by means of at least one frame
device (12) which is accommodated within the housing (6).
