A substrate containing a natural polymeric material is modified by: A)
treating the substrate containing the natural polymeric material with a
modifying agent selected from the group consisting of organo-functional
coupling agents and multi-functional amine containing organic compounds;
and B) optionally exposing the substrate containing natural polymeric
material with one or more treatments selected from the consisting of: i)
subjecting the substrate to extraction with a solvent to reduce the
content of extractable materials associated with the natural polymeric
material prior to or during treatment with the modifying agent; ii)
treatment with a physical field selected from static physical fields,
high-frequency alternating physical fields and combinations of two or more
thereof either prior to, during or after treatment with the modifying
agent; and iii) oxidation of at least part of the natural polymeric
material prior to or during treatment with the modifying agent.
Un substrat contenant un matériel polymère normal est modifié par : A) traitant le substrat contenant le matériel polymère normal avec un agent de modification choisi dans le groupe des agents organo-fonctionnels d'accouplement et de l'amine multifonctionnelle contenant les composés organiques ; et B) sur option exposant le substrat contenant le matériel polymère normal avec un ou plusieurs traitements choisis parmi se composer : i) soumettant le substrat à l'extraction avec du dissolvant pour réduire la teneur des matériaux extractibles s'est associé au matériel polymère normal avant ou pendant le traitement avec l'agent de modification ; ii) traitement avec un champ physique choisi parmi les champs physiques statiques, les champs physiques alternatifs à haute fréquence et les combinaisons deux ou plus en avant, pendant ou après le traitement avec l'agent de modification ; et iii) oxydation au moins d'une partie du matériel polymère normal avant ou pendant le traitement avec l'agent de modification.
