Nucleotides and oligonucleosides functionalized to include alkylamino
functionality, and derivatives thereof. In certain embodiments, the compounds of
the invention further include steroids, reporter molecules, reporter enzymes, lipophilic
molecules, peptides or proteins attached to the nucleotides through the alkylamino group.
