The present invention is concerned with novel HIV protease Inhibitors of formula I ##STR1## as individual isomers, racemates, non-racemic mixtures or mixtures of diastereoisomers; wherein n, R.sup.1 and R.sup.4 are as described herein. The compounds of formula I are peptide mimetics which act as inhibitors of the HIV aspartyl protease, an essential enzyme in the replicative life cycle of HIV.

La actual invención se refiere a los inhibidores del protease del VIH de la novela del ## del ## STR1 del fórmula I como los isómeros individuales, los racemates, las mezclas no-race'micas o mezclas de diastereoisomers; en donde n, R.sup.1 y R.sup.4 están según lo descrito adjunto. Los compuestos del fórmula I son el mimetics que actúan como inhibidores del protease del aspartyl del VIH, una enzima esencial del peptide en el ciclo vital replicative del VIH.
