This invention relates to an isolated nucleic acid fragment encoding a thiamine biosynthetic enzyme. The invention also relates to the construction of a chimeric gene encoding all or a substantial portion of the thiamine biosynthetic enzyme, in sense or antisense orientation, wherein expression of the chimeric gene results in production of altered levels of the thiamine biosynthetic enzyme in a transformed host cell.

Cette invention concerne un fragment d'isolement d'acide nucléique codant une enzyme biosynthétique de thiamine. L'invention se relie également à la construction d'un gène chimérique codant toute l'ou une partie substantielle enzyme biosynthétique de thiamine, dans le sens ou l'orientation d'antisense, où l'expression du gène chimérique a comme conséquence la production des niveaux changés de l'enzyme biosynthétique de thiamine dans une cellule hôte transformée.
