The present invention provides a method and apparatus for sanitizing a device, such as an endoscope, having a lumen. The method comprises a) providing a container possessing two or more openings, and a flexible, gas-impermeable pouch that surrounds the container; b) placing the device into the container; c) applying a reduced pressure to the container and pouch, thereby causing the pouch to collapse around the container and form at least one interface separating the container into two or more compartments, which interface is formed under reduced pressure by the adherence of the pouch onto itself and around part of a surface of the device, through openings in the container, such that one end of the device is located in one of the compartments and the other end is in another compartment; and d) generating a flow of a sanitizing solution through the lumen to sanitize the inner surface of the device.

La présente invention fournit une méthode et un appareil pour aseptiser un dispositif, tel qu'un endoscope, ayant un lumen. La méthode comporte a) fournissant un récipient possédant deux ouvertures ou plus, et une poche flexible et imperméable au gaz qui entoure le récipient ; b) placement du dispositif dans le récipient ; c) s'appliquant une pression réduite au récipient et à la poche, faisant de ce fait effondrer autour du récipient et former la poche au moins une interface séparant le récipient dans deux compartiments ou plus, que l'interface est formé à pression réduite par l'adhérence de la poche sur elle-même et autour d'une partie d'une surface du dispositif, par des ouvertures dans le récipient, de tels qu'une extrémité du dispositif est située dans un des compartiments et de l'autre extrémité est en un autre compartiment ; et d) produisant d'un écoulement d'une solution d'aseptisation par le lumen pour aseptiser la surface intérieure du dispositif.
