Process for preparing a moulded elastomeric polyurethane material having an overall density of 200-1000 kg/m.sup.3, preferably of 200-500 kg/m.sup.3, and a compression load at 40% deflection of at least 25 kPa by reacting in a closed mould an isocyanate terminated prepolymer, having an NCO-value of 5-15% by weight and which is the reaction product of a polyisocyanate and a polyether polyol having an average nominal functionality of 2-6, an average equivalent weight of 500-5000 and an oxyethylene content of 50-90% by weight, and water. The elastomer obtained is claimed as well.
