Compositions comprising an asymmetric disiloxane surfactant composition comprising a silicone composition comprising a silicone having the formula: MM' where M or M' comprises an alkylpolyalkyleneoxide bearing substituent selected from the group consisting of: R.sup.13(C.sub.2H.sub.4O).sub.a(C.sub.3H.sub.6O).sub.b(C.sub.4H.sub.8O).s- ub.cR.sup.14 and R.sup.12SiR.sup.5R.sup.6(R.sup.13(C.sub.2H.sub.4O).sub.a(C.sub.3H.sub.6O)- .sub.b(C.sub.4H.sub.8O).sub.cR.sup.14) that exhibit resistance to hydrolysis over a wide pH range.
