An emitting compound for an organic electroluminescent device, and an organic electroluminescent device using the same, supply an effective luminance, an efficient driving voltage, and color purity. The emitting compound has an imidazo-pyridine frame represented as in the following Formula 1: ##STR00001## where R.sub.1 to R.sub.14, each of which is independent, refer to the functional groups recited herein.
