Bioresorbable material made of oxidized natural or regenerated cellulose intended primarily for health care purposes is prepared in such a way that a solvent from the family of perfluoroethers or perfluoropolyethers with the boiling point between 50 and 110.degree. C. is used for the oxidation by dinitrogen tetraoxide.
