A cosmetic compact includes a base and a lid. The base defines an inside surface and at least one receptacle for storing a cosmetic item extending from the inside surface into the base. The lid is coupled with the base in a manner allowing the lid to rotate relative to the base about a rotational axis. The rotational axis is substantially perpendicular to the inside surface of the base. The lid is configured to rotatably transition from a closed position where the lid covers the at least one receptacle and an open position where the at least one receptacle is accessible by a user.
