The invention relates to novel 4-biphenyl-substituted 4-substituted pyrazolidine-3,5-diones of the formula (I) ##STR00001## in which A, D, G, W, X, Y and Z are as defined above, to processes and intermediates for their preparation and to their use as pesticides and/or microbicides and/or herbicides. Moreover, the invention relates to selective herbicidal compositions comprising both the 4-biphenyl-substituted 4-substituted pyrazolidine-3,5-diones and a crop plant compatibility-improving compound.
