A prodrug, N-oxide, addition salt, quaternary amine or stereochemically isomeric form thereof, wherein L.sup.1 and L.sup.2 are R.sup.1--Y-- wherein each (R.sup.1--Y)-- substituent is defined independently of the other; Y is C.sub.1-4alkanediyl, C.sub.2-4alkenediyl, C.sub.2-4alkynediyl, C(.dbd.O), or a direct bond; R.sup.1 is hydrogen, cyano, aryl or a substituted or unsubstituted C.sub.1-14heterocycle; =Z.sup.1-Z.sup.2=Z.sup.3- represents a radical of formula .dbd.N--N.dbd.CH-- (a-1), .dbd.N--CH.dbd.N-- (a-2), .dbd.CH--N.dbd.N-- (a-3); X is SO.sub.2, (CH.sub.2).sub.n wherein n is 1 to 4, C(.dbd.O), C(.dbd.S), or a direct bond; R.sup.2 is aryl, C.sub.3-7cycloalkyl, C.sub.3-7cycloalkyl substituted with one or more substituents independently selected from hydroxy, aryl, aryloxy, a substituted or unsubstituted C.sub.1-14heterocycle, C.sub.3-7cycloalkyl, hydroxycarbonyl, C.sub.1-6alkyloxycarbonyl, hydroxyC.sub.1-6alkyl, hydroxyC.sub.1-6alkyloxy, hydroxyC.sub.1-6alkylthio and arylC.sub.1-6alkylthio, C.sub.1-12alkyl or C.sub.1-12alkyl substituted with one or more substituents independently selected from hydroxy, aryl, aryloxy, a substituted or unsubstituted C.sub.1-14heterocycle, C.sub.3-7cycloalkyl, hydroxycarbonyl, C.sub.1-6alkyloxycarbonyl, hydroxyC.sub.1-6alkyl, hydroxyC.sub.1-6alkyloxy, hydroxyC.sub.1-6alkylthio and arylC.sub.1-6alkylthio; R.sup.3 is aryl, --NR.sup.5R.sup.6, a substituted or unsubstituted C.sub.1-14heterocycle, or C.sub.2-4alkenediyl substituted with a substituted or unsubstituted C.sub.1-14heterocycle or aryl; R.sup.4 is hydrogen, aryl, C.sub.3-7cycloalkyl, C.sub.1-6alkyl or C.sub.1-6alkyl substituted with C.sub.3-7cycloalkyl, hydroxycarbonyl, C.sub.1-4alkyloxycarbonyl or aryl; R.sup.5 and R.sup.6 are each independently selected from hydrogen, a substituted or unsubstituted C.sub.1-14heterocycle, aryl, C.sub.1-12alkyl and C.sub.1-12alkyl substituted with one or more substituents selected from hydroxy, aryl, aryloxy or a substituted or unsubstituted C.sub.1-14heterocycle. ##STR00001##
