A silver halide color photographic light-sensitive material, in which at least one of silver halide emulsion layers contains a silver halide emulsion having a silver chloride content of at least 90 mol % and being chemically sensitized with at least one compound of formula (1): ##STR00001## wherein Ch represents a sulfur, selenium, or tellurium atom; A.sup.1 represents an oxygen or sulfur atom, or NR.sup.4; R.sup.1 represents a hydrogen atom, or an alkyl alkenyl, alkynyl, aryl, heterocyclic, or acyl group; R.sup.2, R.sup.3, and R.sup.4 represent a hydrogen atom, or an alkyl alkenyl, alkynyl, aryl, or heterocyclic group; X.sup.1 represents a substituent; n.sup.1 is 0 to 4; and Y represents, for example, a group of formula (2): ##STR00002## wherein Z represents an alkyl, alkenyl, alkynyl, aryl, or heterocyclic group, or OR.sup.5, or NR.sup.6R.sup.7, in which R.sup.5, R.sup.6 and R.sup.7 represent an alkyl alkenyl, alkynyl, aryl, or heterocyclic group.
