Devices for the microencapsulation of cells include a first chamber for
containing a cell-solution suspension. A plate covers one end of the
first chamber. The plate has a plurality of apertures. A second chamber
is provided for receiving encapsulated cells. The second chamber is
separated from the first chamber by the plate. Cells from the first
chamber are encapsulated by passing through the apertures in the plate
and into the second chamber when pressure is applied to the cell-solution
suspension.
