A light emitting device of the invention includes a unit for applying a forward bias voltage to a first light emitting element so that a first pixel emits light and applying a reverse bias voltage to a second light emitting element, and a unit for applying a reverse bias voltage to the first light emitting element so that the first pixel emits no light and applying a forward bias voltage to the second light emitting element.
