The invention relates to mixtures for producing transparent plastic, which mixtures comprise: a) compounds of formulae (I) and (II), wherein R.sup.1 independently represents hydrogen or a methyl group, R.sup.2 independently represents a linear or branched, aliphatic or cycloaliphatic group or a substituted or unsubstituted aromatic or heteroaromatic group and m and n independently represent an integer .gtoreq.0, with m+n>0, b) a prepolymer produced from polymethacrylate and alkyldithiols or polythiols, preferably HS--R.sup.3--SH (III), wherein R.sup.3 is the same or different from R.sup.2 and may have the definition of R.sup.2, and c) aromatic vinyl compounds.
