The present invention relates to the use of a chromone compound of the formula wherein R.sub.1, R.sub.2, R.sub.3, R.sub.4, R.sub.5 and m are as defined in the specification and in the claims, in free form or in salt form, and, where possible, in acid addition salt form, as a vanilloid antagonist.
