A process for separating and drying microparticles initially dispersed in a liquid phase, comprising the steps: placing a preparation comprising microparticles dispersed or suspended in a liquid phase in a filtration container placed inside a chamber; filtering a fraction of the liquid phase through the container in the chamber; and varying the temperature and the pressure throughout the chamber in order to freeze dry the filtered preparation in the container maintained in the chamber.
