A golf club head is described which has a hitting face for golf balls, the hitting face being formed at least partially by a metallic material satisfying the following relationship: y.ltoreq.0.006x+60 wherein x is Young's modulus(unit: kgf/mm.sup.2), and y is tensile strength(unit: kgf/mm.sup.2). The metallic material is preferably an amorphous metal.
