A receiver device for a mobile radiocommunication unit communicating with a base
station via a propagation channel includes a pathfinder for determining the time-delays
associated with a multipath signal, a channel estimator supplying an estimate of
the propagation channel to a filter unit, which can be made up of a bank of Wiener
filters, which optimizes the estimates of the propagation channel, and to a speed
estimator that supplies the estimated speed of the mobile radio communication unit
to the filter unit so as to select the appropriate filter corresponding to the
speed estimate.
