A wireless notification apparatus, system and method provide notifications to
a
user relating to e-mails, voice messages, meeting and calendar reminders, or any
combination thereof, when the user is away from the user's desk, computer, workstation,
or the like. The notification system may include a notification device and a base
station. The notification device may have a microprocessor, a display for displaying
data, and a wireless receiver for receiving wireless data, the microprocessor coupled
with the display and the wireless receiver. The base station may include a wireless
transmitter for transmitting data to the wireless receiver when an event has occurred
at the user's desk. In this manner, the wireless notification system provides time
sensitive data-such as meeting reminders, calendar reminders, voice message information,
or email information-to the intended recipient even when the intended recipient
is away from his or her desk.
