An apparatus and method of using electrically initiated primer systems that rely
on vaporizing a thin metallic film which is either coated on a non-conductive insulator
component or is a malleable thin film or strip secured to the inner surface of
a primer cup assembly to ignite an environmentally safe MIC composition.
