A novel food coating substance comprising a plasticizer-free aqueous
copolymer poly(vinyl ester) dispersion of emulsion polymer, emulsifier,
protective colloid and optionally other stabilizers is outstandingly
suitable for the surface treatment or surface coating of hard cheese or
semi-hard cheese, but also of meat products, fruits, nuts or seed
material.
