A system and method for managing a multiple server computer system on a
computer network. The system includes a central management server and one
or more remote nodes connected to the central management server. A
distributed task facility assigns and monitors system management tasks on
the remote nodes. An agent running on each of the remote nodes executes
system management tasks and initiates contact with the central management
server to report the status of the agent and the remote node on which it
is running.
Un sistema y un método para manejar un sistema informático múltiple de servidor en una red de ordenadores. El sistema incluye un servidor central de la gerencia y unos o más nodos alejados conectados con el servidor central de la gerencia. Una facilidad distribuida de la tarea asigna y supervisa tareas de la gerencia de sistema en los nodos alejados. Un agente que funciona en cada uno de los nodos alejados ejecuta tareas de la gerencia de sistema y los iniciados entran en contacto con con el servidor central de la gerencia para divulgar el estado del agente y del nodo alejado en los cuales está funcionando.
