The present invention provides a crystalline, hydroxide containing double metal cyanide (DMC) catalyst of the formulae (I) or (II), M.sup.1.sub.x [M.sup.2 (CN).sub.6 ].sub.y OH.L (I) M.sup.1.sub.x [M.sup.2 (CN).sub.6 ].sub.y.zM.sup.1 (OH).sub.q.L (II) wherein M.sup.1 represents a metal selected from Zn.sup.+2, Fe.sup.+2, Ni.sup.+2, Mn.sup.+2, Co.sup.+2, Sn.sup.+2, Pb.sup.+2, Fe.sup.+3, Mo.sup.+4, Mo.sup.+6, Al.sup.+3, V.sup.+4, V.sup.+5, Sr.sup.+2, W.sup.+4, W.sup.+6, Cu.sup.+2 and Cr.sup.+3, M.sup.+2 represents a metal selected from Fe.sup.+2, Fe.sup.+3, Co.sup.+2, Co.sup.+3, Cr.sup.+2, Cr.sup.+3, Mn.sup.+2, Mn.sup.+3, Ir.sup.+3, Ni.sup.+2, Rh.sup.+3, Ru.sup.+2, V.sup.+4 and V.sup.+5, L represents an organic ligand and x, y and q are chosen to maintain electroneutrality. Further provided are processes for the production of the inventive DMC catalysts. The crystalline, hydroxide containing DMC catalysts of the present invention may find use in the preparation of polyols, such as polyether polyols.

São fornecidos mais mais os processos para a produção dos catalizadores inventive de DMC. O cristalino, hydroxide que contem catalizadores de DMC da invenção atual pode encontrar o uso na preparação dos polyols, tais como polyols do polyether.
