A method for making a roll for a rotary printing press includes cutting a
strip of a material so as to form a first web with a plurality of first
tabs disposed one after the other and extending from the first web. The
plurality of first tabs is bent relative to the first web so as to form a
strut strip having the tabs extending from the web at an angle relative to
the web. The strut strip is wrapped about a cylindrical form so as to form
a cylindrical tube with the plurality of first tabs extending from the
tube.
