Flame-resistant polycarbonate moulding compounds

   
   

A thermoplastic molding composition characterized by its excellent flame retardance, chemical resistance and thermal stability is disclosed. The compostion that contains polycarbonate, an impact modifier and a flame retardant corresponding to ##STR1## in which R.sup.1, R.sup.2, R.sup.3 and R.sup.4 independently of one another denote C.sub.1 -C.sub.8 -alkyl, C.sub.6 -C.sub.10 -aryl or C.sub.7 -C.sub.12 -aralkyl, n is 0 or 1, q is 0, 1, 2, 3, or 4, N is 0.1 and 30, R.sup.5 and R.sup.6 independently denote C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkyl, and Y denotes C.sub.1 -C.sub.7 -alkylidene, C.sub.1 -C.sub.7 -alkylene, C.sub.5 -C.sub.12 -cycloalkylene, C.sub.5 -C.sub.12 -cycloalkylidene, --O--, --S--, --SO--, SO.sub.2 or --CO--, is further characterized in that is contains .ltoreq.0.1% fluorine, in relation to its weight.
