The present invention relates to a filter element having a non-porous
extrusion laminated strip formed on at least one edge and at least one
side of a membrane. The strip is used to provide a means for ensuring a
good bond between the filter element and the material into which it is
potted. The strip is formed by the use of one or more extrusion heads
that apply molten or softened polymer to one or both of the surfaces of
the filter in a width and height desired. The strip is then subjected to
pressure such as through a nip to at least partially embed the polymer
strip into the filter pores so as to create a strong mechanical bond
between the strip and the filter element. Additionally, it allows for the
simultaneous formation of more than one membrane with the edge lamination
at the same time.
La présente invention concerne un élément filtrant ayant une bande stratifiée par extrusion non poreuse formée au moins d'un bord et au moins d'un côté d'une membrane. La bande est employée pour fournir des moyens pour assurer une bonne obligation entre l'élément filtrant et le matériel dans lesquels elle est mise en pot. La bande est constituée par l'utilisation d'une ou plusieurs têtes d'extrusion qui appliquent fondu ou polymère ramolli à un ou tous les deux surfaces du filtre dans une largeur et une taille désirées. La bande est alors soumise à la pression comme par un point de contact d'inclure au moins partiellement la bande de polymère dans les pores de filtre afin de créer une obligation mécanique forte entre la bande et l'élément filtrant. En plus, elle tient compte de la formation simultanée de plus d'une membrane avec la stratification de bord en même temps.
