The present invention relates to a compound of the formula (I) or salt

nitro, SF.sub.5, (C.sub.1 -C.sub.8)alkyl, (C.sub.2 -C.sub.8)alkenyl,
(C.sub.2 -C.sub.8)alkynyl, (C.sub.1 -C.sub.8)alkoxy, [(C.sub.1
-C.sub.8)alkyl]-carbonyl or (C.sub.1 -C.sub.8)alkylsulfonyl, each of the
radicals being unsubstituted or substituted,
or is S(O).sub.p --R.sup.7, where
p=0, 1 or 2 and
R.sup.7 is (C.sub.1 -C.sub.8)alkyl, (C.sub.1 -C.sub.8)haloalkyl or NR.sup.8
R.sup.9, where
R.sup.8 and R.sup.9 independently of one another are identical or
different and are H, (C.sub.1 -C.sub.8)alkyl, (C.sub.2 -C.sub.8)alkenyl,
(C.sub.7 -C.sub.10)arylalkyl, (C.sub.7 -C.sub.10)alkylaryl or (C.sub.6
-C.sub.10)aryl, each of the last-mentioned five radicals being
unsubstituted or substituted,
or is a group of the formula

where R.sup.10 is (C.sub.1 -C.sub.8)alkyl which is unsubstituted or
substituted, and
W=O or S,
A is optionally substituted aryl or an optionally substituted heterocyclic
radical,
X is O or S,
R.sup.2,R.sup.3,R.sup.4, and R.sup.5 are identical or different and are H,
halogen, CN, (C.sub.1 -C.sub.8)alkoxy or (C.sub.1 -C.sub.8)alkyl, each of
the two last-mentioned radicals being unsubstituted or substituted,
m is 0 or 1,
R.sup.6 is H, (C.sub.1 -C.sub.8)alkyl, (C.sub.1 -C.sub.8)alkoxy, (C.sub.2
-C.sub.8)alkenyl or (C.sub.2 -C.sub.8)alkynyl, each of the four
last-mentioned radicals being unsubstituted or substituted, or is hydroxyl
or an acyl radical, and
B is an acyl radical,
or B and R.sup.6 together form a 4- or 5-membered chain,
with the exception of N-hydroxy-N-[(6-phenoxy-2-pyridyl)methyl]-acetamide
and its salts.
The compounds of the invention are suitable, for example, as herbicides and
growth regulators.
La présente invention concerne un composé de la formule (i) ou du ## du ## STR1 de sel en dans lesquels R.sup.1 est identique ou différent à chaque occurrence et est H, l'halogène, CN, nitro, SF.sub.5, (C.sub.1 - C.sub.8)alkyl, (C.sub.2 - C.sub.8)alkenyl, (C.sub.2 - C.sub.8)alkynyl, (C.sub.1 - C.sub.8)alkoxy, [ (C.sub.1 - (C.sub.8)alkyl]-carbonyl ou (C.sub.1 - C.sub.8)alkylsulfonyl, chacun des radicaux être non substitué ou substitué, ou est S(O).sub.p -- R.sup.7, où p=0, 1 ou 2 et R.sup.7 est (C.sub.1 - C.sub.8)alkyl, (C.sub.1 - C.sub.8)haloalkyl ou NR.sup.8 R.sup.9, où R.sup.8 et R.sup.9 indépendamment d'un un autre sont identiques ou différents et sont H, (C.sub.1 - C.sub.8)alkyl, (C.sub.2 - C.sub.8)alkenyl, (C.sub.7 - C.sub.10)arylalkyl, (C.sub.7 - C.sub.10)alkylaryl ou (C.sub.6 - C.sub.10)aryl, chacun des derniers cinq radicaux étant non substitués ou substitués, ou est un groupe du ## du ## STR2 de formule où R.sup.10 est (C.sub.1 - C.sub.8)alkyl qui est non substitué ou substitué, et W=O ou S, A est sur option l'aryle substitué ou un radical hétérocyclique sur option substitué, X est O ou S, R.sup.2, R.sup.3, R.sup.4, et R.sup.5 sont identiques ou différents et sont H, l'halogène, CN, (C.sub.1 - C.sub.8)alkoxy ou (C.sub.1 - C.sub.8)alkyl, chacun des deux derniers radicaux étant non substitués ou substitués, m est 0 ou 1, R.sup.6 est H, (C.sub.1 - C.sub.8)alkyl, (C.sub.1 - C.sub.8)alkoxy, - C.sub.8)alkenyl ou (C.sub.2 - C.sub.8)alkynyl, chacun des quatre derniers radicaux étant non substitués ou substitués, ou est hydroxyle ou un radical d'acyle, et B est un radical d'acyle, ou B et R.sup.6 forment ensemble des 4 ou une chaîne 5-membered, excepté N-hydroxy-N-[(6-phenoxy-2-pyridyl)methyl]-acetamide et ses sels. Les composés de l'invention conviennent, par exemple, comme herbicides et régulateurs de croissance.
