Fiber reinforced recycled thermoplastic composites and methods for their
manufacture are presented. In a preferred embodiment, the thermoplastic
composite incorporates a matrix of recycled thermoplastic and a plurality
of high modulus, reinforcing fibers, with the recycled thermoplastic
including polyethylene, polypropylene, nylon, PET and styrene-butadiene
rubber, and the reinforcing fibers including glass fibers, natural fibers,
carbon fibers, and aramid fibers. Preferably, each of the reinforcing
fibers has a minimum length of approximately 1/2 of an inch and a modulus
of approximately one million psi.

In un metodo di realizzazione preferito, il composto termoplastico comprende una tabella di termoplastico riciclato e una pluralità di alto modulo, rinforzante le fibre, con il termoplastico riciclato compresi polietilene, polipropilene, nylon, gomma del stirolo-butadiene e dell'ANIMALE DOMESTICO e le fibre rinforzanti compreso le fibre di vetro, le fibre naturali, le fibre del carbonio e le fibre del aramid. Preferibilmente, ciascuna delle fibre rinforzanti ha una lunghezza minima di circa 1/2 di un pollice e di un modulo di circa un milione di PSI.
