This invention relates to compounds having the Formula I:

or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt, prodrug or solvate thereof, wherein
Het and R.sub.5 -R.sub.13 are set in the specification. The invention also
is directed to the use of compounds of Formula I for the treatment of
neuronal damage following global and focal ischemia, for the treatment or
prevention of neurodegenerative conditions such as amyotrophic lateral
sclerosis (ALS), and for the treatment, prevention or amelioration of both
acute or chronic pain, as antitinnitus agents, as anticonvulsants, and as
antimanic depressants, as local anesthetics, as antiarrhythmics and for
the treatment or prevention of diabetic neuropathy.
Esta invención se relaciona con los compuestos que tienen el fórmula I: ## del ## STR1 o una sal, un prodrug o un solvate farmacéutico aceptable de eso, en donde Het y R.sub.5 - R.sub.13 se fijan en la especificación. La invención también se dirige al uso de compuestos del fórmula I para el tratamiento del daño neuronal que sigue isquemia global y focal, para el tratamiento o la prevención de condiciones neurodegenerative tales como esclerosis de lateral amyotrophic (ALS), y para el tratamiento, la prevención o el mejoramiento del dolor agudo o crónico, como agentes del antitinnitus, como anticonvulsivos, y como deprimentes antimanic, como anestésicos locales, como antiarrhythmics y para el tratamiento o la prevención de la neuropatía diabética.
