Recombinant polynucleotides and methods for modifying the phenotype of a
plant are provided. In particular, the phenotype that is being modified is
a plant's biomass. The method comprises altering the levels of a
transcription factor that is introduced into the plant or that is
endogenous to the plant to obtain a plant with a larger biomass.
