A triazine-based compound having three biphenyl groups, represented by Structure 1, below, wherein R.sub.1 through R.sub.18 are each independently one of: hydrogen, a substituted C.sub.1-30 alkyl group, an unsubstituted C.sub.1-30 alkyl group, a substituted C.sub.6-50 aryl group, an unsubstituted C.sub.6-50 aryl group, a substituted C.sub.4-50 heteroaryl group, and an unsubstituted C.sub.4-50 heteroaryl group, and at least one of R.sub.1, R.sub.2, R.sub.7, R.sub.8, R.sub.13 and R.sub.14 is one of: a substituted C.sub.1-30 alkyl group, an unsubstituted C.sub.1-30 alkyl group, a substituted C.sub.6-50 aryl group, an unsubstituted C.sub.6-50 aryl group, a substituted C.sub.4-50 heteroaryl group, and an unsubstituted C.sub.4-50 heteroaryl group. ##STR00001##
