The present invention primarily concerns certain 4-alkyl pyridines of the following formula (I), ##STR00001## wherein R is C.sub.8-C.sub.12 alkyl, odiferous substance mixtures and aromatic substance mixtures containing these 4-alkyl pyridines, the respective uses thereof as an odiferous or aromatic substance (mixture) and corresponding perfumed products.
