The filter includes a near infrared ray shielding layer that absorbs or reflects near infrared rays. The plasma display panel includes a front substrate, a rear substrate, and a barrier rib, formed between the front and rear substrates, partitioning a discharge cell. An exhaust unit is omitted in the rear substrate. The discharge cell is filled with a discharge gas containing xenon (Xe) equal to or more than 10% based on total weight of the discharge gas.
