A compound of the following formula: ##STR00001## wherein R.sup.1 R.sup.2, R.sup.3, R.sup.4, R.sup.5, R.sup.6, W, X, Y, Z, m, n, and p are as defined herein. This invention also covers methods for inhibiting dipeptidyl peptidase IV or VIII, or treating Type II diabetes with such a compound.
