The invention provides compositions and methods for treatment and
prophylaxis of weight disorders. Such methods entail administering to an
individual a therapeutically or prophylactically effective dosage regime
of a hypocretin or an agonist thereof, and monitoring the condition of
the individual responsive to the administering.
