The water filter may comprise a F-BLR of greater than about 2 logs. The water filter device may comprise a storage housing in fluid communication with the low-pressure water filter. The water filter device may comprise an automatic shutoff valve for arresting the flow of treated drinking water into the storage housing. The water filter device may comprise a dispenser for dispensing treated drinking water from the storage housing. The treated drinking may enter into the storage housing at the rate of at least about 5 mL/min until activating the automatic shutoff valve, such that the flow of treated drinking water into the storage housing is arrested. The water filter device may be a non-electric water filter device.
