A monohydric-alcohol-containing emulsion that is more stable than prior art emulsions. An emulsion with tolerance to alcohol comprising a monohydric alcohol or a solution in a monohydric alcohol as a solvent; and an emulsifier; (1) the content of the monohydric alcohol or the solution thereof being 10 wt % or more, based on the total weight of the emulsion; (2) the content of the emulsifier being 0.1 to 50 wt %, based on the total weight of the emulsion; and (3) the emulsion being in the form of an O/W emulsion, W/O/W emulsion, O/W/O emulsion, or S/O/W emulsion.
