A composition comprising heme iron and/or heme iron polypeptide in
combination with ionic iron(s) and/or chelated iron(s). Administration of
effective dosages of the present composition provides a method for
treating and/or preventing iron deficiency anemia, and the physiological,
biochemical, morphological, and behavioral manifestations symptomatic of
same.
