A method for controlling or regulating a folder of a printing press in
which at least one fold control mark is printed onto a printed copy or a
printing material of the printed copy. The at least one printed fold
control mark is measured and at least one fold actual measured value is
compared with a corresponding fold setpoint value. The folder is then set
automatically as a function of the comparison between the fold actual
measured value and the fold setpoint value, such that the fold actual
measured value corresponds to the fold setpoint value or is approximated
to it in subsequent printed copies.
