The apparatus includes a scan unit for periodically scanning favorite channels which are selectable as a playing channel, and recording broadcasting signal properties of each favorite channel; an evaluation value calculating module for calculating an evaluation value of each favorite channel according to the broadcasting signal properties thereof; a channel selection module for selecting one of the favorite channels as a playing channel according to the evaluation values; and a signal receiving unit for receiving radio signals in the playing channel.
