An electrophotographic photoreceptor, which contains a polyester resin having a repeating structure comprising a bivalent phenol residue represented by the following formula (1) and an aromatic dicarboxylic acid residue represented by the following formula (2): ##STR00001## in the formula (1), each of R.sup.1 to R.sup.4 which are independent of one another, represents a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group, and R.sup.5 represents an alkyl group.
