The present invention relates to a VEGF polypeptide that binds to A.beta.. The present invention also relates to a compound that sequesters A.beta.. And conversely, the invention relates to a compound that sequesters VEGF. Thus, the present invention also relates to a method of screening for a compound that inhibits the binding of VEGF to A.beta., and thus relates to prevention and treatment of Alzheimer's Disease.
