A full-surface bonded multiple component nonwoven fabric is provided that has an improved combination of tear strength and tensile strength at lower thicknesses than known in the art. The full-surface bonded multiple component webs have a void percent between about 3% and 56% and a Frazier permeability of at least 0.155 m.sup.3/min-m.sup.2. The full-surface bonded multiple component nonwoven fabrics can be prepared in a smooth-calendering process.
