It is an object of the present invention to provide a spacer for a liquid crystal display and a method of producing a spacer for a liquid crystal display, which improve light leakage around a spacer for a liquid crystal display in cutting off light of a liquid crystal display and in vibrating a liquid crystal display and in addition have a good dry spraying property.The present invention relates to a spacer for a liquid crystal display, which comprises a base particle and a polymer coating the surface of said base particle, a contact angle A1 of water on the spacer, measured at 25.degree.
