The scale may comprise marks indicating at least one of a distance to a cup and a recommended backswing amount. The player looks at a cup on a green as the player holds the putter, positioning an end of the grip at eye's level, the player reads off the scale of the grip to estimate the distance to the cup and the recommended backswing amount.
