A cellulose acylate film, wherein at least one surface thereof has a contact angle of water of less than 55.degree., and wherein all or a part of hydroxyl groups of cellulose is substituted for an acyl group having 3 or more carbon atoms. The cellulose acylate film has an excellent bonding property to a polarizer and a small fluctuation in retardation with a variation in humidity.
