A system for allowing a user to send an electronic mail message. The system including a computer system which determines information relating to sending a message, generates coded data indicative of at least one parameter relating to sending the message, and determines a layout defining an arrangement for at least one of the coded data and the information. The computer system then causes printing of a form by printing of the coded data and the information, using the layout. The user interacts with the form using a sensing device, which, when placed in an operative position relative to the form, senses at least some of the coded data and generates indicating data using at least some of the sensed coded data. The indicating data, which is at least partially indicative of the at least one parameter, is used by the computer system to determine the at least one parameter and send the message using the at least one parameter.
